Camposol 2025 was originally introduced to the CRA in 2021, as a concept to look forward for the following four years, however this was not welcomed, so a small group of volunteers decided to continue with the idea and in the ensuing period have been engaged in the following activities. The Camposol 2025 team realised that in order to be fully necessary, simply being a group of volunteers is not sufficient, so has agreed to fall under the umbrella of the recently formed AVC,
Bin areas
The programme of bin area improvements began with work on those in Calle Esparrageura, in partnership with D Sector Community and Gardening Group (DSCGG), followed by those on Calle Babinas and Calle Martos. This activity is seen as a rolling project that will continue until all bin areas are completed.
Brochures
A series of brochures leaflets were planned to provide accurate information to the residents of Camposol. The first of these, providing security advice was published and is available on the Camposol 2025 Facebook page.
Exercise area
The exercise area was approved as a result of the Citizen participation programme and has been completed on Sector D. The funding bid was made by a member of our team and promoted by us and Camposol Free Community Sports, which allowed sufficient support to win the bid.
Dog park
The dog park was similarly approved as a result of the Citizen participation programme and has been completed on Sector A. The funding bid was made by a member of our team and promoted by us and Camposol Free Community Sports, which allowed sufficient support to win the bid.
Lighting
The campaign to offer to source lighting for residents on private streets led to the order of 25 lights, which were fitted by our team in collaboration with Camposol Free Community Sports.
Neighbourhood Watch
As a method of trying to bring the various sectors of Camposol together is by activating a Neighbourhood Watch scheme. There is a national scheme approved by the national government that we could tap into. It is necessary to have the authority of the mayor. To achieve this we will first need to obtain the support of he head of the Guardia Civil in Mazarron. This could be continued by the new association if there is sufficient support
Publicity
We have a number of outlets to publicise our activities. These include the monthly article in the Costa Calida Chronicle, access to the Camposol Today website, use of the local Costa Calida Radio, as well as local publicity on Camposol, including our Facebook page, which currently has over 1,200 members
Ukraine
Camposol 2025 were requested by the TH to organise the Ayuntamiento collection point formUkraine on Camposol in March 2022. We recruited volunteers and collected a huge amount of donations that were sent to Ukraine. We then ran four events to raise money that was converted into medical supplies/equipment met and driven directly into the worst affected areas in the war zone. For the month of January 2023, we reinstated the collection point to receive further donations for Ukraine. This activity is currently considered as complete.
Voting registration
A Facebook and leaflet campaign to encourage UK residents to register to vote was carried out in December/January 2023.
